![]() Pediatric dentists (pedodontists) are uniquely qualified to see and treat children from infancy through the teenage years. They also see special needs patients. These dentists have an additional two to three years of training at university pediatric facilities. Just as many parents take their children to a pediatrician for specialized and routine medical needs, some parents like to have their children seen by a pedodontist. Our <link to Dr. Seiler bio> specialist and staff are specially trained to put children at ease and help them realize that going to the dentist can be fun. Young people’s teeth especially need regular preventive care and oral hygiene instruction. We can help parents set a good foundation for child’s lifetime. At Hillsborough Family Dental, our Pediatric Dentist can address children’s oral problems, such as thumb sucking, baby bottle decay, and orthodontic issues and problems with tooth development. We focus on preventive care, too, including using sealants, fluoride treatments and space maintainers (for missing baby teeth). When a child starts recreational sports, we can further protect their smile by creating an athletic mouth guard. And, should an emergency happen, we offer special appointments to treat toothaches and chipped or broken teeth. "That was the least pain I ever felt in the dentist's chair. I also greatly appreciate the fact the you did not make me feel I was being judged."
